Today we started an assignment about making our own poems. First we went over 6-7 questions and then we made a poem. The poem was based on culture and how we feel about other cultures. I learned that culture has had a big impact on other people's lives.

Today we finished an assignment from Friday. The assignment consisted of 4 poems and we had to analyze them. I learned that every poem has multiple interpretation.

Today we went over a new poem about a mother giving advice to her child. The poem talked about how life is difficult not hard and said that you have to keep going and don't look back. I learned that life is unfair for everyone in its own way.

Today we went over a poem and analyzed it. The class all went over it with the teacher and answered questions relating to the poem. I learned that the American dream is perceived differently by everyone.

Today we went over a poem called "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" by Langston Hughes. We answered 10 questions about it and wrote tid bits of information throughout the poem. I learned that we all came from the same place according to a lot of people.

Today the whole class presented they're great gatsby mini projects. These projects included the option of websites for each character, a soundtrack for the book, and what you would find in characters trash. Everyone chose the trash option which was very interesting to me.

Today we did another black history month bell ringer and worked on our mini projects. Everyone who hadn't finished them worked on it while others had the chance to work on Mondays work.  I learned that we had an African American secretary of state.

Today we did a bellringer for black history month and chapter seven questions. There were 5 question and I finished the sheet that day. I learned to read faster.

Today we started a mini project. This project had 3 options, 1 where we could do websites for great gatsby characters, 1 where we did items we'd find in the trash for great gatsby characters, and we could make a soundtrack for the book. I chose to do the trash option and learned jay gatz is gatsbys real name.

Today we took a benchmark test. I learned that im pretty good at literature apparently. My day was pretty good finally made it to the end of the week.

Today we got an assignment on canvas for chapter 6 of the great Gatsby. The assignment was 8 questions on the chapter. I learned that Gatsby was not born into riches.
